North Shore Fire Department Fire Academy
The North Shore Fire Department runs its own Fire Academy for newly hired firefighters. All new hires must already have a Wisconsin EMT license and Firefighter I certification; then we train them to be North Shore Firefighters.

The Fire Academy runs for 4 weeks, Monday - Friday, 0800-1730. The schedule is intense, but at its completion, the rookies are assigned to a fire house and become part of a company. They are on probation for one year.
