Home Donations
The North Shore Fire Department will consider offers of home donations for training purposes. Although not every offer is accepted, Deputy Chief Robert Whitaker works closely with homeowners to determine the viability of the donation. Some considerations are: Will the timing of the donation work with the training schedule? How could the house be utilized for training? North Shore Fire Department no longer trains with live burns; rather, houses are used for confined space training, search and rescue and tactical procedures.
If you are considering a home donation, please contact DC Robert Whitaker, 414-357-0113, ext 117. Keep in mind that if you bought a house with the sole intent of tearing it down in order to build a new one on the property, the donation is not tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor before contemplating a donation.
