Job Position: Firefighter
The North Shore Fire Commission, the City of Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission and the City of West Allis Police and Fire Commission are accepting applications to fill current and future vacancies on the entry level Firefighter/EMT staff of the North Shore Fire Department, Wauwatosa Fire Department, and West Allis Fire Department. This is a joint hiring process; however, each Fire Department will be creating a separate hiring eligibility list. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, valid Driver's License, 18 years of age by due date of application, Wisconsin EMT license and Wisconsin Firefighter I certification or equivalent. Preferred: Nationally Registered Paramedic Technician License. Preference Points: Preference points will be given to candidates who have obtained additional general and fire education and/or emergency medical licenses and certifications. Job Position: Community Relations Officer, part-time
The North Shore Fire/Rescue Department seeks an expeienced professional for the position of part-time Community Relations Officer. North Shore Fire/Rescue provides emergency prevention services to the City of Glendale and Villages of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, River Hills, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay.
This position requires strong knowledge of development and delivery of fire and life safety programs for a variety of ages, cultures and communities. The Department is seeking a person who is experienced in risks that communities face specific to fire, safety and medical related issues. The ideal candidate should also have experience in dealing with media and in fire code enforcement.
Minimum qualifications for this position include the ability for the candidate to meet the requirements of National Fire Protection Association Standard 1035 for Public Fire and Life Safety Educator I and a valid Wisconisn driver's license.
The position is required to work a variety of hours to meet the Department's needs.
