The North Shore Fire/Rescue is an all hazards response agency. In order to respond to this wide variety of incidents, the Department must maintain a fleet of apparatus with a range of capabilities.
Fire/Rescue
The Department has four front-line engines, two front-line trucks, and two tenders (water carrying tankers). Fire/Rescue apparatus is equipped to respond to fire incidents, rescue calls and emergency medical calls.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
The Department staffs two levels of ambulances in accordance with State of Wisconsin Statutes. The Department operates four ambulances. Three advanced life support ambulances are staffed with paramedics and the other ambulance is staffed with basic life support crews.
Special Operations
The Department works with neighboring agencies to provide regional wide response to emergencies requiring specialized rescue. Members regularly training on auto extrication, hazardous materials response, water and ice rescue and rescue from building collapses, confined spaces and trenches.
Command
A Battalion Chief serves as the Operations Shift Commander twenty-four hours a day. The Battalion Chief acts as the Incident Commander at major incidents and operates from a sport utility type vehicle.
