North Shore Fire / Rescue Foundation

Soon after the inception of the North Shore Fire Department, the North Shore Fire/Rescue Foundation was founded to provide for department and equipment needs not covered in the annual budget of the North Shore Fire Department. Foundation funds also help to bridge the gap created by decreased state funding.

Mission

The mission of the North Shore Fire/Rescue Foundation is to generate community support from each of its seven communities; to raise funds to provide for Department and equipment needs not provided by the annual budget of the North Shore Fire Department; and to assist the North Shore Fire Department with educating and protecting the lives and property of all North Shore residents and businesses.

Needs Funded

Over the years, the North Shore Fire/Rescue Foundation has supported a variety of department needs, including funding for:

  • Mechanical chest compression systems, similar to the LUCAS device
  • Pediatric equipment and supplies for North Shore ambulance and paramedic units
  • Fire prevention materials that reach over 5,000 North Shore school children during Fire Prevention Month
  • New defibrillators for North Shore ambulances
